AIMIM is contesting the elections in alliance with the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP), founded by former Trinamool Congress leader Humayun Kabir. The alliance is expected to influence voting patterns, particularly in constituencies with a significant minority population.
The upcoming election is widely seen as a direct contest between the ruling All India Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

West Bengal’s 294-seat Assembly will vote in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with counting scheduled for May 4. The first phase will cover districts such as Purulia, Bankura, and Murshidabad, while the second phase will include Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, and Nadia.
Political observers believe the AIMIM-AJUP alliance could play a role in altering vote shares in closely contested seats, especially in regions with concentrated minority voters, potentially adding a new dimension to the electoral battle.
