BJP Bypoll Shocker: Loss of Two Seats Including Nitin Nabin’s Homeground, Delivers Strong Setback

By-poll results for all three seats were announced, in which the BJP lost two seats, including BJP president Nitin Nabin’s homeground Bankipur. Jan Suraj President Prashant Kishor has swept the Bankipur by-poll, whereas Congress has won the Datai seat of Madhya Pradesh, while the BJP has won the Manjalpur constituency from Gujarat.

New Delhi: The By-poll results for all three assembly seats in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat have been announced. Out of the three seats, the BJP has lost two seats, Bankipur in Bihar and Datai in Madhya Pradesh, while the Manjalpur seat of Gujarat has been won by Satendrabhai Patel of the BJP.
All three states are currently ruled by the NDA, while in Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat BJP has the magic number in the assembly.
One of the biggest setbacks for the BJP is the defeat in the Bankipur by-poll, as BJP National President Nitin Nabin was MLA from this seat and the BJP used to have a good hold over the constituency over decades. Jan Suraj president Prashant Kishor has won the seat with a margin of 19,324 against BJP’s Neeraj Kumar, who secured 44,827 votes.
Kishore made his electoral debut with the Bankipur by-poll. The competition was consider tough for Kishore as the BJP and Nabin’s family had good hold over the consituency.
In the 2025 state assembly election, Jan Suraj failed to win a single seat. However, Kishor didn’t contest the election. He will be the first MLA from Jan Suraj. Kishor’s win has made headlines not only in Bihar but in the entire Hindi belt and beyond.

Datia By-Poll Result

Datia By-poll result has also given a shock to the BJP, as the Congress candidate won the by-poll election with a margin of 6,016 votes.
Congress candidate Ghanshyam Singh secured 66,757 votes, whereas BJP’s Ashutosh Tiwari got 60,741 votes. In Datai constituency, Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) has secured significant votes despite being a small organisation with only one Member of Parliament from Nagina, UP. ASP’s Damodar Yadav ‘Mandal’ secured 22,527 votes and stood on number 3.

Manjalpur By-Poll Result

Manjalpur has turned out to be the only seat which comes in favour of the BJP. BJP’s Satendrabhai Patel won the seat with a margin of 30,630 votes, whereas Congress candidate Bhikhabhai Rabari secured 24,851 votes.
There were only two contestants in the by-poll from the BJP and the Congress.
