Lucknow: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is likely to witness major organisational changes ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027. Party chief Mayawati is reportedly preparing to give a bigger role to the younger generation within the organisation.

According to sources, Mayawati’s younger nephew Ishaan Anand may be appointed as a key sector in-charge in the party. The possibility of assigning him responsibilities for some states has also triggered political discussions.

However, BSP has not made any official announcement regarding Ishaan Anand’s appointment so far. The final picture is expected to emerge after a formal decision from the party.

Ishaan Anand May Report Directly to Mayawati and Anand Kumar

Sources indicate that if Ishaan Anand receives the responsibility, he will coordinate directly with Mayawati and his father Anand Kumar, who is currently the BSP national vice-president.

The move is being linked to BSP’s strategy of strengthening its organisational structure before the crucial 2027 Uttar Pradesh elections.

Ishaan Anand’s political presence has increased in recent months. He has attended important party meetings and was also seen during BSP programmes, including Mayawati’s birthday event.

After Akash Anand, Spotlight on Ishaan Anand

The discussion around Ishaan Anand comes after Mayawati removed her nephew Akash Anand from the post of BSP national coordinator. Since then, Ishaan’s growing presence in party activities has attracted attention.

Political observers believe the move could indicate a fresh leadership strategy within BSP as the party prepares for the upcoming electoral battle in Uttar Pradesh.

Other BSP Leaders May Also Get Bigger Roles

Apart from Ishaan Anand, discussions are also underway regarding increased responsibilities for senior BSP leaders. Sources suggest that national coordinator Ramji Gautam and leader Lalaram may also receive additional organisational duties.

With the 2027 Assembly elections approaching, BSP is focusing on strengthening its ground network and internal structure.

If Ishaan Anand is officially given a major role, it could mark a new phase in Mayawati’s political strategy and BSP’s future leadership planning.
