Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar is set to be sworn in as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka on 3rd June in Bengaluru.

Shivakumar, known for his religious inclinations, chose this date after consulting his astrologer. June 3 has been identified as a “Shubh Muhurat” (auspicious time) for the swearing-in ceremony.

Another reason behind selecting this date is the availability of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is expected to attend the event.

Shivakumar Meets Governor

Earlier today, Shivakumar met the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for discussions regarding the formation of the new government and the swearing-in of the Chief Minister and council of ministers.

Oath Ceremony at Lok Bhavan

The ceremony will be held at the Lok Bhavan Glass House and is expected to be attended by senior Congress leaders, cabinet colleagues, party workers, and supporters from across the state.

Around 10 Ministers To Take Oath

Alongside Shivakumar, 8 to 10 ministers are expected to take oath during the ceremony.

Shivakumar’s appointment comes days after Siddaramaiah stepped down as Chief Minister following consultations with the Congress high command in Delhi.
