DMK cannot be reformed, says Chief Minister Vijay during Karur Visit

New Delhi: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay received a rousing welcome from thousands of supporters as he travelled to Karur on Friday attended a major public meeting organised by the TVK, with elaborate security arrangements put in place across the district.

While addressing a public gathering Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay said,  "The Perambalur Police alerted us that the crowd was getting too large. But the Karur Police didn't give us any such alert. They themselves brought us to the venue, and I believed them... A memorial will be built in Karur to remember the tragic incident and ensure that future generations never forget what happened."

"The DMK cannot be reformed, and it doesn't seem like they are willing to change either. I urge the people to give the DMK a fitting reply in the upcoming by-election," said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

Supporters gathers in  Karur

Supporters, including a large number of women and children, gathered along the roadside, waving party flags and cheering as his convoy passed. Many showered flowers on the Chief Minister’s vehicle, while others raised slogans welcoming him and expressing support for his government.

The enthusiastic reception resulted in heavy crowds at several locations along the route, prompting police to regulate traffic and maintain order to ensure the convoy moved safely.

The stampede happened during a TVK rally in Karur. It led to criticism and legal issues.
