He is the son of Parimal Dhirajlal Nathwani, a senior corporate executive and Rajya Sabha member. Parimal Nathwani has served as Group President (Corporate Affairs) at Reliance Industries and has represented states including Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha.
Dhanraj Nathwani has been closely associated with cricket administration in Gujarat. He has served in key positions in the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) and later became its President.
During his tenure in cricket administration, he has been associated with the development of cricket infrastructure in Gujarat, including projects linked with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
