A sudden change in the Lok Sabha calendar has pushed back key sittings this month. While new dates have been fixed, the revised plan introduces a notable shift in how proceedings will unfold.
Parliament Reschedules Lok Sabha Sessions Amid Festival Observances
New Delhi: The sittings of the Lower House of Parliament scheduled for March 19 and 20 have been cancelled, citing major regional festivals observed across the country.
According to the Dynamite News correspondent at Parliament House, the sittings fixed for Thursday (March 19) and Friday (March 20) have been called off due to the observance of Chaitra Sukladi, Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, Cheti Chand, and Jamat-ul-Vida.
In lieu of the cancelled sessions, the Lok Sabha will now convene on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. Replies to both starred and unstarred questions listed for March 19 and 20 will be laid on the Table during the next sitting of the House. However, there will be no Question Hour on the rescheduled dates.
