New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a breakfast meeting with NDA Lok Sabha MPs and assured recently joined alliance members, including Trinamool Congress rebels and former Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs, that they would receive full support from the government and the NDA leadership.
The meeting took place amid ongoing disruptions in Parliament, with PM Modi urging lawmakers to actively participate in debates and ensure that parliamentary proceedings function smoothly.

During the interaction, Prime Minister Modi described Parliament as the “supreme temple of democracy” and expressed concern over repeated disruptions affecting the participation of newly elected MPs.
According to sources, PM Modi said that due to frequent disruptions, many first-time lawmakers are not getting adequate opportunities to raise issues related to their constituencies. He advised MPs to study the history and functioning of Parliament and use available resources to prepare stronger arguments during debates.
Addressing MPs who recently switched political affiliations, PM Modi reportedly said that the NDA functions as one family and every member of the alliance would be respected. He assured the lawmakers that they should not be concerned about their future within the alliance.
“The NDA is a family. We are with the constituent parties. Every individual will be respected and given a chance,” sources quoted the Prime Minister as saying.
The meeting included MPs from various NDA partners, including the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), Shiv Sena, Republican Party of India (Athawale), Rashtriya Lok Morcha, AIADMK and UPPL.
The meeting comes after significant political shifts involving opposition parties. Around 20 Lok Sabha members who had left the Trinamool Congress joined the NCPI in June. The party later became part of the NDA.
Meanwhile, six Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs moved to the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, increasing the party’s strength in the Lok Sabha. The developments have changed the political equations among opposition groups and strengthened the NDA’s numbers in the House.
During the interaction, PM Modi asked MPs to prioritise development work in their respective areas and directly connect with people, including farmers and labourers.
