Thiruvananthapuram: Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding the CMRL-Exalogic case, saying that he has faced similar situations in the past. His remarks came amid renewed political discussions over allegations linked to transactions involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) and Exalogic Solutions, a company associated with his daughter Veena Vijayan.
Vijayan said such attempts to target him were not new and maintained that he would continue to face political challenges with confidence.
Addressing the issue, Pinarayi Vijayan said, “This father has seen many such attempts,” while responding to questions over the controversy.
The CPI(M) leader has rejected allegations surrounding the matter and has previously claimed that political motives were behind the developments related to the case.
The controversy is linked to alleged financial dealings between CMRL and Exalogic Solutions, a Bengaluru-based IT company founded by Veena Vijayan.
Investigating agencies have examined transactions between the two entities and raised questions regarding certain payments. Exalogic and Vijayan’s family have denied any wrongdoing and maintained that the transactions were legitimate.
The issue has triggered a fresh political exchange in Kerala, with opposition parties demanding further action and the CPI(M) defending Pinarayi Vijayan.
