Chennai: Tamil star Dhanush’s speech at a recent fan event has raised a question that, is another Tamil star gearing up to debut in politics?
While addressing hundreds of supporters in Tiruvallur, the actor delivered a passionate speech on Sunday, to which the crowd reacted with cheer and joy. Dhanush urged his fans to move beyond celebration and channel their collective strength into public service. He said, “ Beyond just audio launches and meetups, we need to engage in even more welfare activities. Understand the needs of the people in your area…I need to feel even prouder of you.”
Tamil Nadu has a track record of actor-actresses coming into politics. The message is scrutinised for political intent. After the speech went viral, the internet was flooded with “Welcome to Politics, Dhanush.”
There is a striking background for this speech that fuelled the state. Earlier this month, his fan club launched an official flag featuring Dhanush’s photo in red and white, carrying the slogan "Ennampol Than Vaazhkai," which goes “Life is as your thoughts.”
However, the actor and his team have not officially confirmed anything yet.
