Kerala Cabinet Portfolios Announced: CM Satheesan retains finance, Chennithala gets key home ministry

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan on Wednesday announced the allocation of portfolios in his United Democratic Front (UDF) government, retaining major departments including Finance, Law, General Administration, and Ports.

Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has been entrusted with the crucial Home and Vigilance ministries, along with three additional departments.

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader P. K. Kunhalikutty will oversee seven portfolios, including Industries, Information Technology, and Textiles. Kerala Congress chief Sunny Joseph has been assigned Electricity and Environment, while senior Congress leader K. Muraleedharan will handle Health and Devaswoms.

Roji M. John has been given charge of Higher Education, and A. P. Anil Kumar will manage Land and Revenue. Revolutionary Socialist Party MLA Shibu Baby John will look after Forests, Wildlife Protection, and Skill Development. Kerala Congress (Joseph) legislator Mons Joseph has been allocated Irrigation, Groundwater, Water Supply, Sanitation, and Housing.
