ISRO chairman offers prayers at Tirupati

Tirupati: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S. Somanath visited the Tirupati temple on Saturday to offer prayers ahead of the launch of the PSLV-C62 mission, scheduled for January 12.

Accompanied by senior ISRO officials, Somanath offered prayers carrying a miniature replica of the PSLV launch vehicle, seeking blessings for the success of the mission.

Launch Scheduled for January 12

Speaking to reporters, the ISRO Chairman confirmed that PSLV-C62 will carry the EOS-N1 Earth Observation Satellite along with 14 co-passenger payloads.

“On January 12, we are going to launch PSLV-C62 carrying the EOS-N1 satellite,” Somanath said.

He added that the mission’s target orbit is a polar sun-synchronous orbit. The 25-hour countdown is scheduled to begin on January 11.

64th Flight of PSLV

The upcoming launch will mark the 64th flight of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV). The rocket has successfully completed 63 missions so far, including major national missions such as Chandrayaan-1, the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), and Aditya-L1.
