Ayodhya: This year's Ram Navami festival became historic in the Ramnagari of Ayodhya, when at exactly 12 noon in the grand Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, the spectacular sight of a 'Surya Tilak' (sun-like mark of the Sun's mark) was manifested on the forehead of Ram Lalla. This moment not only became a spiritual experience for devotees but also marked a unique confluence of science and faith.
On the occasion of Ram Navami, as the hour struck 12 noon, thousands of devotees present in the temple complex filled the atmosphere with devotion with chants of 'Jai Shri Ram'. At this very moment, a specially designed opto-mechanical system directed the Sun's rays into the sanctum sanctorum through mirrors and lenses. For approximately four minutes, the Sun's rays appeared as a tilak on the forehead of Ram Lalla, seated in the Ram Mandir.
Scientists and technical experts worked for months to make this entire event a success. The Roorkee-based CBRI and experts from Bengaluru developed this system by calculating the position, angle, and time of the Sun with utmost precision. According to officials, even a one-second error could have affected this celestial spectacle, but the entire process was completely successful.
Millions of devotees thronged Ayodhya on Ram Navami. Large LED screens were installed outside the temple complex to ensure crowd control and darshan arrangements, allowing devotees standing at a distance to experience the 'Surya Tilak' live. The administration was vigilant regarding security arrangements, and special surveillance was maintained at every location.
