New Delhi: At the recent teaser launch event in Los Angeles, Ranbir Kapoor heaped praise on Sai Pallavi for her portrayal of Sita, stating that no one could have been a better fit for the role. However, before the official casting announcement, widespread speculation suggested that Alia Bhatt was being considered for the part.

Alia Bhatt Was Reportedly in Consideration

While neither Ranbir Kapoor nor Alia Bhatt ever confirmed these reports, the buzz gained significant traction on social media. The speculation even reached a point where paparazzi at Mumbai airport addressed Alia as “Sita Ma’am” and “Sita Maa.” She reacted briefly with a casual “Oh!” and chose not to engage further.

Some online users went so far as to suggest the moment might have been a publicity stunt, though no evidence supports this claim. According to reports, the primary reason Alia did not take up the role was scheduling conflicts.
