New Delhi: India's legendary badminton player and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Saina Nehwal has separated from her husband Parupalli Kashyap. She announced this through Instagram story late on Sunday night and shocked her fans, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Both the players got married on 14 December 2018 and now after 7 years, their relationship broke. Saina's husband Parupalli Kashyap has also been a legendary badminton player.
The news was revealed through Saina Nehwal’s Instagram story, where she wrote: “Sometimes life takes us on different paths. After a lot of thought and conversation, Parupalli Kashyap and I have decided to separate."
She said that we are choosing peace, growth and good health for ourselves and each other. I am grateful for those memories and want only the best for the future.
Saina is a resident of Haryana. She started her career by winning the BWF World Junior Championships in 2008 and caught everyone's attention. In 2009, Saina became the first Indian to win a BWF Super Series event.

In view of Saina's remarkable contribution to the sports world, she was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2009 and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2010.
Saina's 38-year-old husband Parupalli Kashyap won the gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Apart from this, he has also been the winner of many other prestigious competitions. He trained under former All-England champion Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand.
Kashyap's wife Saina also has the distinction of being the only female Indian player to achieve the world's number-1 ranking in the sport.

The two met at the academy of legendary Indian badminton player Pullela Gopichand in Hyderabad, where both of them were training under the supervision of the legendary coach. This is where the love story of the two started.
