BCCI Announces Team India for Asia Cup 2025; 6 Prominent players left out of the squad

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Team India for Asia Cup 2025. This time the Indian team will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, who is fully prepared to make his team successful in this tournament. In this much-awaited tournament between 8 countries, the Indian team's first match will be against UAE on 10 September. The Asia Cup will start from 9 September and its final will be played on 28 September.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer await

India's young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and middle order star Shreyas Iyer have not found a place in the team selected for Asia Cup 2025. Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar said that both these players have not been included in the team and have been kept on standby. However, the performance of both of them has been excellent recently and many fans are surprised by their absence.

Key players dropped from the team

Shreyas Iyer: Iyer, who performed brilliantly in the Champions Trophy 2025, has not got a place in the Asia Cup. He scored 1104 runs in 51 T20 matches at a strike rate of 136.12.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: Despite performing well in T20 international cricket in recent times, Jaiswal did not get a place in the team this time. He scored 723 runs in 23 T20 matches.

Rajat Patidar: Patidar performed brilliantly while captaining RCB in IPL 2025. He scored 2775 runs in 90 T20 matches, but he did not get a place in the team.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: Gaikwad has played 150 matches in his T20 career and scored 4996 runs, but he could not be selected in the Asia Cup squad.

Ishan Kishan: Ishan Kishan has also not got a place in the team, as he is currently undergoing rehabilitation process.

Mohammad Shami: Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also not been selected in the team this time. Shami was out of Test cricket for a long time, and after the announcement of the Asia Cup squad, his chances of comeback have now diminished.
