He described the title win as a historic achievement and praised the team for continuing its successful run from the previous season. In a post shared on social media platform X, Shivakumar said RCB had once again made Bengaluru proud through its determination and composure under pressure.
“Tonight, Bengaluru rises again as champions,” he said, adding that the franchise had written another memorable chapter in its IPL journey. He also thanked the millions of supporters who stood by the team throughout the tournament.
During the match, Shivakumar also expressed disappointment that the IPL final was not hosted in Bengaluru. He stated that the summit clash should have been held in the city and alleged that Bengaluru had been denied the opportunity due to political reasons, though he did not elaborate further on the matter.
Outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also congratulated RCB on defending their IPL crown and praised the side’s aggressive and fearless style of cricket during the tournament.
He said the team’s consistent performances left rival sides struggling for answers throughout the competition. Calling the victory a result of collective effort, Siddaramaiah said the title win had created a festive atmosphere in the homes of RCB supporters.
Amid celebrations across Karnataka, Siddaramaiah urged fans to follow police guidelines and maintain safety during public gatherings. He noted that advisories issued by the state police were intended to ensure the well-being of supporters participating in celebrations following the team’s victory.
RCB’s consecutive IPL titles have further strengthened the franchise’s popularity and added another major achievement to Bengaluru’s sporting history.
