Heinrich Klaasen Enters Elite Batting List
New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabads IPL 2026 journey ended with a loss to Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2026 Eliminator match on May 27 in Mullanpur. They lost by 47 runs. Rajasthan played well in all areas to move to Qualifier 2 while SRH had a season but couldn't continue.
Rajasthan Royals batted first. Scored 243 runs. This put pressure on SRHs batting. SRH replied with 196 runs. Never seemed in control because they lost wickets early.
Many of Hyderabads hopes were on Heinrich Klaasen. He played well all season.. He only scored 18 runs from 10 balls before Yash Raj Punja dismissed him.
With a short innings Klaasen achieved something notable. He moved ahead of IPL batters like Kane Williamson. Klaasen is now fourth on the list of non-openers with the runs in an IPL season.
Klaasen scored 624 runs in IPL 2026. The record is still held by Suryakumar Yadav, who scored 717 runs in 2025.
After losing SRH captain Pat Cummins praised the players. He said they have a lot of potential. Cummins said Hyderabad had one of the teams to make the playoffs. He thanked the coaches for finding talent.
Cummins feels good about the teams balance. He thinks the experience, from this season will help SRH get stronger in IPL 2026 seasons.
