India wins the Asia Cup for the 9th time
New Delhi: The Indian cricket team has won the Asia Cup 2025 title. India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final. This is India's 9th Asia Cup title, once again proving its dominance in Asian cricket.
Tilak Varma played a key role in this victory. He scored an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls and rescued the team from a difficult situation. He was named Player of the Match for his performance. In addition, Abhishek Sharma received the Player of the Series award for his outstanding performance.
A controversy also erupted after the victory. The Indian team flatly refused to accept the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi, who is of Pakistani origin.
This delayed the prize distribution ceremony for approximately one hour. Mohsin Naqvi eventually left, and Team India posed for photographs without taking the trophy. This is being considered a greater humiliation for Pakistan than the defeat itself.
Not only this, Surya Kumar Yadav even mocked Pakistan further by posting on his social media handle x that when the game is done, only the champions will be remembered and not the picture of a trophy.

India was set a target of 147 runs to win. The start was poor, and India quickly lost three wickets for 20 runs. Tilak Verma then forged crucial partnerships with Sanju Samson (24 runs) and then Shivam Dubey (33 runs).

Finally, with a four from Rinku Singh, India reached 150 for 5 in 19.4 overs to win.
Having lost the toss and elected to bat first, Pakistan got off to a good start. Sahibzada Farhan (57 runs) and Fakhar Zaman (46 runs) added 84 runs for the first wicket. But after this, the Pakistani batsmen could not stand up to the Indian bowlers, and the entire team was all out for 146 runs in 19.1 overs.
Kuldeep's bowling performance shines in India's bowling. The Indian bowlers performed brilliantly. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs. Axar Patel took 2 wickets. Varun Chakravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah also took 2 wickets each.

Tilak Verma said that this was one of the most special innings of his career and that he batted calmly under pressure. Abhishek Sharma said that he had worked very hard on his game and received full support from the coach and captain.
India not only won the Asia Cup with a brilliant performance but also sent a strong message on a political and emotional level. Skill and composure on the field, and a clear stance off the field, made this victory even more historic and memorable.
