This season saw many ups and downs, but ultimately four teams—Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians—remained in the playoff race. Now these teams are ready to give a tough fight for the title.
Punjab Kings and RCB at the top
Performing brilliantly in the league stage, Punjab Kings secured the first position in the points table with 19 points and a net run rate of 0.372. The team won 9 out of 14 matches and lost 4, while one match was inconclusive. On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore also collected 19 points but had to settle for second place due to a low net run rate.
Both these teams have given a tough challenge to the opponents throughout the season with their balanced team combination, aggressive batting, and accurate bowling. Now both these teams will face each other in Qualifier 1, where the winning team will directly enter the final.
Eliminator Mahasangram to be held between Gujarat and Mumbai
Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians, who finished third and fourth, will now clash in the Eliminator on May 30. This match will be a 'do or die,' as the losing team will be out of the tournament.
