IPL 2026: KKR vs LSG Clash at Eden Gardens
New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have had a disappointing start to IPL 2026. The team has yet to taste victory - losing two matches, while one was abandoned due to rain. Consequently, the team may field a few changes in Thursday's match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The good news for KKR is that star all-rounder Sunil Narine is now fully fit and is expected to return. However, spinner Varun Chakravarthy's participation remains uncertain due to a finger injury. Narine's arrival is expected to bolster the bowling attack.
Another positive news for the team is Cameron Green. It is believed that he may be seen bowling in this match. Until now, he had been kept away from bowling due to workload management, but he has been practicing regularly in the nets.
KKR's opening pair of Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen has not been effective so far. Therefore, the team management may make a change in this match, giving Tim Seifert a chance. Rachin Ravindra could also make a place in the middle order, providing the team with an additional spin option along with batting.
The Lucknow Super Giants are brimming with confidence after winning their previous match. Captain Rishabh Pant displayed excellent form in the previous match, scoring an unbeaten 68. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram also provide solid support in the top order. LSK will look to put pressure on the KKR bowlers from the outset.
Kolkata has been experiencing continuous rain for the past few days, which is likely to impact the match. However, with the match scheduled to start at 7:30 pm, it is hoped that rain will not be a major hindrance.
The match between KKR and Lucknow Super Giants will be played on Thursday, April 9, at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The match will begin at 7:30 PM, with the toss taking place at 7:00 PM. Viewers can watch the match live on the Star Sports Network, and live streaming will be available on the JioHotstar app.
