This incident came to light during the live broadcast, following which the matter quickly went viral.
Action was taken against Riyan Parag under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. This rule pertains to “conduct that brings the game into disrepute.” Vaping was deemed to fall under this category, as it is not only inappropriate but also violates the legal ban on e-cigarettes in India.
