New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals took the field in a special pink jersey during their IPL 2026 match against Gujarat Titans at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium, turning the spotlight on a social initiative beyond cricket.

The franchise wore the alternate kit as part of its “Pink Promise” campaign, an initiative focused on supporting women-led development projects and sustainable change across Rajasthan.

The match also carried added importance for the Royals in the playoff race as they aimed to maintain their place in the IPL top four.

What Is Rajasthan Royals’ ‘Pink Promise’ Initiative?

The Pink Promise campaign is led by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), the social impact arm of the franchise. Now in its third season, the initiative aims to promote women empowerment and community development in rural Rajasthan.

According to the franchise, the campaign uses cricket as a platform to support long-term social projects, especially those led by women in underserved communities.

The special pink jersey worn during the match was designed by 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada from Nashik, adding a unique personal touch to the initiative.

Solar Power Initiative Linked to Every Six

Rajasthan Royals also announced a special sustainability initiative during the game against Gujarat Titans.

The franchise revealed that every six hit in the match would contribute toward powering six homes in Rajasthan with solar energy. The project is aimed at supporting women-led electrification efforts in rural areas lacking reliable power access.

The move received praise from fans on social media, with many appreciating the blend of sport and social responsibility.

Riyan Parag Misses Match Due to Injury

The Royals, however, suffered a setback ahead of the contest as regular captain Riyan Parag missed the game with a hamstring injury.

Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal stepped in as captain for the clash against Gujarat Titans. Speaking at the toss, Jaiswal confirmed that Parag had suffered the injury in the previous match and expressed hope that he would return soon.

RR also made changes to the playing XI, with Shimron Hetmyer and Ravi Bishnoi unavailable for the game.
