Pakistan withdraws from Junior Hockey World Cup in India; Seeks another venue

New Delhi: Pakistan has pulled out of the Junior Hockey World Cup which was scheduled to be held in India in November and December. This was confirmed by International Hockey Federation (FIH) on Friday. The Federation stated that the venue will remain the same and the Junior Hockey World Cup will be held in Chennai and Madurai from November 28 to December 28.

However FIH said that the new team to replace Pakistan in the global tournament will be announced soon.

"We confirm that the Pakistan Hockey Federation has informed the FIH that its team, which initially qualified for the upcoming Hockey Men's Junior World Cup 2025, will ultimately not participate. The team that will replace Pakistan in the tournament will be announced soon," stated FIH.

This withdrawl by Pakistan is the second event in India after the men's Asia Cup in Rajgir, Bihar which was held from 29 August to 7 September this year.
