New Delhi: Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav on Monday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Operation Sindoor' post following the Asia Cup win, saying it feels good to see the nation’s leader himself "batting on the front foot."

India defeated Pakistan in Asia Cup finals 2025 by five wickets at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. PM Modi had compared the team's win to Operation Sindoor.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, "#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same - India wins! Congrats to our cricketers."

While taking to media the Indian skipper said that it feels good when the country's leader himself bats on the front foot. It somehow felt like he took the strike and scored runs. "It was great to see, and when the sir is standing in front, then definitely the players will play freely", he added.

"The most important thing is that the whole country is celebrating. When we go back (to India), it will feel good, and we will get more inspiration and motivation to do well," he further added.

Suryakumar announces to donate entire match fee

Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav announced on Monday that he would donate his entire match fee from the Asia Cup to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Indian Armed Forces.

"I have decided to donate my match fees from this tournament to support our Armed Forces and the families of the victims who suffered from the Pahalgam terror attack. You always remain in my thoughts", he said on X.

After Suryakumar's announcement to donate his entire match fee, a video of Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj went viral on social media. In the video, Bharadwaj can be seen challenging the Indian T20 captain to donate to the widows of the Pahalgam victims.

“Suryakumar Yadav, if you have the ability, we challenge you to give the money you have earned…to the widows of the Pahalgam victims,” Bharadwaj is seen saying in the video.

Following this Bharatiya Janata Party slammed the AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj’s challenge to Indian T20 skipper to donate his match fees from all the games to the armed forces and the families of the Pahalgam attack victims.
