Para-badminton star Pramod Bhagat and para-athlete Simran Sharma led the Indian delegation as flag-bearers during the opening ceremony at Paloma Mizuho Stadium. The Indian contingent also drew attention with its ceremonial attire. Athletes wore deep blue blazers featuring golden designs inspired by the Indus Valley Civilisation. The motifs included representations of the iconic Priest-King sculpture, the Dancing Girl figurine and ancient seals.

He also highlighted expectations from the athletics events, predicting six medals on the opening day of competition, including two to three gold medals. High-jumper Nishad Kumar was identified as another athlete to watch, with hopes that he could achieve a personal best or break the Games record.
