New Delhi: Veteran India batter Rohit Sharma has been declared fully fit ahead of India’s upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The clearance came from the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, where the star batter underwent assessment for his hamstring injury.
Rohit is now expected to feature in the opening ODI scheduled to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on June 13.

The experienced opener had missed several matches for the Mumbai Indians during IPL 2026 due to a hamstring niggle. His fitness had become a key concern for the Indian team management ahead of an important international season.
After completing rehabilitation and fitness evaluations at the Centre of Excellence, Rohit has now received the all-clear to return to competitive cricket.
The Afghanistan ODI series is expected to play a crucial role in India’s preparations for the upcoming ODI World Cup. Rohit, coming off a below-par IPL campaign, will look to regain rhythm and strengthen his place as one of India’s senior-most batters.
India and Afghanistan will play the second ODI in Lucknow on June 17, while the final match of the series will take place in Chennai on June 20.
