Hyderabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 156/9 in 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2026 match on Sunday, recovering from an early collapse through a key partnership between Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
After being put in to bat, SRH suffered a dramatic top-order collapse, losing three wickets inside the first four overs. Mohammed Shami set the tone early, dismissing Abhishek Sharma for a two-ball duck in the opening over before removing Travis Head in the third. Ishan Kishan followed soon after, leaving the hosts reeling at 11/3.
SRH vs LSG IPL 2026 Live: Lucknow restrict Sunrisers to 156/9; Reddy, Klaasen get half-centuries
With the innings in disarray, Klaasen and Reddy steadied the ship with a composed yet counter-attacking partnership. The duo initially focused on rebuilding before accelerating in the middle overs.
Reddy played the aggressor’s role at times, finding boundaries regularly and rotating strike smartly. Klaasen, meanwhile, anchored the innings and shifted gears when needed, taking on the bowlers with calculated aggression. The pair’s 116-run stand brought SRH back into the contest and laid the foundation for a competitive total.
Reddy eventually fell for a well-made 56 off 33 balls, while Klaasen continued briefly before departing for 62 off 41 deliveries.
Just when SRH looked set for a strong finish, the innings lost momentum again. Wickets fell in quick succession during the death overs, with Avesh Khan striking twice in two balls to remove Klaasen and Harsh Dubey.

The final over summed up SRH’s struggles at the end, as a run-out on the last ball further dented their total. From a position of strength, the hosts slipped to 156/9, missing out on a potentially bigger score.
Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl. LSG made one change, bringing in M. Siddharth, while SRH included Liam Livingstone and Harshal Patel in their playing XI.
