Lucknow: The Aam Admi Party(AAP) on Thursday promised to provide free 300 units electricity to every household, if voted to power in the Assembly election early next year.

The party also said that all the pending dues of consumers will be waived off and the cases against consumers withdrawn. Farmers will also get electricity free.

Delhi Deputy Chief minister Manish Sishodia made the announcements here in presence of AAP UP in-charge, Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, just a day after the party had released names of probable candidates in 100 constituencies. Mr Sishodia said that if an AAP government is formed in the state, within 24 hours, consumers will get free electricity up to 300 units per month.

"All the old outstanding bills will be waived off," he said while asking the people to throw away their outstanding bills as soon as the AAP government is formed and bills would start afresh from zero. He said 24-hour electricity will be provided in the state as UP generate more power than Delhi. "Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal believes that electricity is not a luxury but a fundamental right in 21st century India. Providing electricity is the basic responsibility of the government," he said.

AAP is the first political party to announce probable 100 candidates for the assembly polls. (UNI)
