Jailed gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari died of cardiac arrest on Thursday after he was admitted to a hospital in Banda district as his health deteriorated again in prison. He was 63. Read further on Dynamite News:

As per Dynamite News Correspondent, Ansari was rushed to the Rani Durgawati Medical College in an unconscious state and was being treated by a team of nine doctors, a hospital bulletin read.

On Tuesday, he was admitted to the Banda Medical College after he complained of abdominal pain, and later discharged. Citing Mukhtar’s claims to them earlier, his family members have alleged that Ansari is being “poisoned” in the prison.
The former five-time MLA from Mau has been convicted in eight cases in the past two years, and has been lodged in Banda jail.
