Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh): Congress rally in Andhra Pradesh with Congress VP Rahul Gandhi and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday. Apart from Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav, CPI general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy and D Raja, along with other leaders of the Opposition also joined the rally demanding special state status for the state.

Congress is trying to strengthen its roots in South India through this rally. Rahul promised to the people here that if Congress came to power in the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2019, then it would give special status to Andhra Pradesh.
