Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has written to all affiliated schools to conduct mass yoga demonstrations on June 21 to celebrate the 2nd International Yoga Day. CBSE has more than 16,000 affiliated schools in India and in 24 other countries.

Make yoga regular
In its circular, CBSE has also asked the Principals to conduct quizes, debates, essay and drawing competitions to mark the day. The letter also advises them to regularly hold practice sessions for students from sixth grade onwards as per ‘common yoga protocol’ set out by the ministry of AYUSH.  It has also directed the schools to include yoga for their CCE assessment.

United Nations had declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga in 2015 for the first time.
