New Delhi/ 28Dec. There seems to be no end to the woes of crisis hit Syria. A serial blast rocked the Syrian city of Homs on Monday killing at least 14 people and injuring more than 90. President Bashar al-Assad’s regime is having control over the city. The blast happened amid mass evacuation by fighters and civilians after a rare UN back deal between Syria’s warring sides.
The latest attack
Two explosions caused by car bombs and a blast caused by a suicide attacker wearing an explosives-laden belt hit Al-Zahraa’s main square. No claim has been made by any terrorist organization by now. According to local news websites, the number of persons killed in serial blast could exceed 60.
Bomb blasts not new to Syria
The attack came less than three weeks after the terror group ISIS claimed explosions in the same neighborhood on December 12 that left 16 people dead.
What is Syrian crisis?
Syria is under grip of civil war for last five years. At one side, there is fight between the government and rebel groups, on the other side ISIS has also made its hold over a big area. The ongoing civil war and terror attacks have killed more than 2 .5 lakhs people in past few years.

The civil war and ISIS terror have forced millions of people to leave their country and migrate to other places. According to the United Nations, more than 1crore 20 lakh people have fled from Syria.
