Rabat: The death toll from the earthquake in Morocco has risen to 2,497 people, with 2,476 others injured, said the Interior Ministry.

Previous reports indicated that 2,122 people were killed and 2,421 others were injured.

Rescuers on Monday had a tough time to dig any survivors from the rubble of devastated villages in Atlas mountains, three days after the massive earthquake.

As per reports, Moroccan authorities have accepted aid offers from Spain, Britain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. (Agencies)
