Ubtan - Key To Glowing Face: How to make one at home?

New Delhi: Nowadays everyone wants glowing skin. People also incorporate natural home remedies for skin. A healthy diet, adequate sleep, and proper skin care play a pivotal role in achieving a natural glow for the skin.

However, Ubtan is extensively used by most of us, especially females,  to make their faces glowing. Therefore first we must understand the meaning of Ubtan.  

Ubtan, literally meaning cleansers, is the concoction of herbs, spices, dals, nuts and oils to deeply cleanse the skin revealing healthy and fresh skin.

How often we should use Ubtan?

If you are pre-oiling skin everyday or doing an abhyanga every day with a good Ayurvedic oil, an ubtan can be used every day. However, as explained previously, an Ubtan should not be used on facial skin as it may e too drying and astringent for facial skin.

How to make Ubtan:

1. Take two spoons of multani mitti and sandalwood powder in a bowl.

2. Now add a little lemon juice.

3. Add water or rose water in a little quantity and mix well.

4. Now apply this paste on your skin and massage gently in circular motions.

5. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water.

 

Rubbing of sandalwood powder and orange peel powder. A decoction of sandalwood powder and orange peel powder is very beneficial for the skin. Many elements are found in orange peel which prove beneficial for the glow of our skin. Applying this paste regularly on the skin increases the glow of the skin and protects the skin. A decoction of sandalwood powder and orange peel powder provides coolness to the skin and helps in reducing skin blemishes.

How to make:

1. Mix sandalwood powder, orange peel powder and lemon juice in a bowl.

2. Now make a thick paste by slowly adding milk to this mixture.

3. Mix this paste well and apply it on the face.

4. Leave for 15-20 minutes and then wash with plain water.

 

Gram flour, rice flour and turmeric paste

A decoction of gram flour, rice flour and turmeric is very beneficial for the skin. Applying it on the skin and massaging it helps in removing dirt and oil from the skin and keeps the skin soft, glowing and healthy. 

Apart from this, it also helps in clearing the skin complexion and makes the skin brighter. Applying it twice a week gives good results.

1. Mix gram flour, rice flour and turmeric powder in a bowl.

2. Now add lemon juice or rose water and mix well.

3. Now you can add a little almond oil to stabilize this mixture.

4. Now make a thick paste of it.

5. Now apply this paste on your skin and massage gently in circular motions. 

6. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and then wash it off with plain water.


Note: After using these scrubs, do not forget to moisturize your face. And before applying the paste, apply it on your hand and do a patch test.
