Human wildlife activities causing Leopard Population decline in Kerala

New Delhi: Human beings never spared wildlife since ever. The rapid falling population of leopards in Kerala is a concern for the state.
It is happening due to several human activities like rapid development, habitat loss, hunting and poaching.
The state has witnessed the major fall of them from 650 in 2018 to 570 in 2022.
Leopards are never entirely safe outside the Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks. P.Balakrishnan, head of the Department of Wildlife Biology, Kerala Forest Research Institute, claims there is no lasting solution to this problem.
But the state should focus on predator proof livestock and animal husbandry practices as this will ensure the minimal interaction between human-wildlife.
