IND Vs BAN: Rohit Sharma, Navdeep Saini Ruled Out Of 2nd Test Due To Injuries

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and pacer Navdeep Saini have been ruled out of the second Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka starting 22 December. Read on for details:

Mumbai: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the second Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka starting 22 December. Pacer Navdeep Saini has also been ruled out with an abdominal muscle strain. The Indian skipper could not recover from his thumb injury sustained during the second ODI and will not be available for the second Test. 

The injury occurred during the fourth delivery of the second over of the second ODI, sent down by Mohammed Siraj, as Rohit, who was fielding in the slip cordon, tried to catch a ball and hurt his thumb. The Indian skipper was immediately taken off the field and replaced by Rajat Patidar. Rohit came out to bat, scoring a brilliant half-century but was then ruled out of the final ODI and the first Test.

In his absence, KL Rahul led the side as India won the first Test in Chattogram by a comfortable margin of 188 runs. Rahul will continue to lead the side in the second Test, as India will further aim to solidify their position in the top two of the World Test Championship standings.
