India win five more medals at Asian Indoor Games

Indian sports added a silver and three bronze medals on the tenth day of the fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan.

Ashgabat: Indian sports added a gold meldal, a silver and three bronze medals on the tenth day of the fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan. 


Indian player Sourav Kothari won gold medal in the final of men's English billiard singles event and defeated Pratyut Chathansakun of Thailand in the score of 3-1.

During this, the mixed doubles tennis pair of Vishnu Vardhan and Prayag Thombare won the silver medal, which was against the team of a Turkic pair of 7-5, 4-6, 2-6 at the Turk Peak and the Thai pair of Nicha Lertpittasichai.

Popular Indian wrestlers Sandeep Tomar (61kg) and Deepak (86kg) triumph bronze medals in men’s freestyle event and While Pooja Dhanda won the women's freestyle medal in the 58kg category. 

There are just two days more to end the game. Currently, India is leading to the 12th position with 7 golds, 8 silver and 14 bronze medals. It is an incredible achievement by Indian team players.

Over 200 Athletes in 15 sports are representing India in the games. Which is considered the second largest Multi- sporting event of the continent after the Asian Games. (With ANI inputs)
