The CBI registered a case against 33 accused persons last month after the J&K government canceled the police Sub-Inspector recruitment.

The written test for the exam was held on March 27 and the results were declared on June 4. After the list was out there were allegations regarding malpractices in the examination.

After the allegations surfaced, the J&K government constituted an Inquiry Committee and it was alleged that the accused against whom FIR was registered by CBI entered into conspiracy with officials of JKSSB, Bengaluru-based private company, beneficiary candidates and others, and caused gross irregularities in conduct of written examination for the posts of Sub-Inspectors.
