LG: AAP govt continues subsidy of 50 pc on electricity charges

Stating that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is committed to welfare of the citizens, Delhi Lieutenant Governor on Friday said the government has continued the subsidy of 50 per cent on electricity charges for all domestic consumers consuming upto 400 units per month.

New Delhi: Stating that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is committed to welfare of the citizens, Delhi Lieutenant Governor on Friday said the government has continued the subsidy of 50 per cent on electricity charges for all domestic consumers consuming upto 400 units per month.

In his address to the Budget session of the Delhi Assembly, the LG said domestic households having functional water meter get free water apply upto 20KL per month and this facility has also been extended to group housing societies.

The LG said the water supply has been extended to 1337 unauthorised colonies. 

“To augment the water supply in Delhi, Delhi Jal Board has also taken up rejuvenation of 159 existing water bodies and creation of five new water bodies,” he said.

The LG said the sewerage facility has been provided in 266 unauthorised colonies and work is in progress in 355 colonies.

“For cleaning of Yamuna, the project of interceptor sewer has been completed to the extend of 92 per cent and about 110 MGD waste water have been trapped from the drains and now being treated at the Sewer treatment plant,” he added.(UNI)
