Lucknow: Rajat Kumar, who helped save the life of Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant following a road accident in 2022, and his girlfriend allegedly consumed poison after their family members reportedly disapproved their relationship.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, the incident occurred in Buchha Basti, a village in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar this week.
Girl dies
The girl, identified as Manu Kashyap, 21, died after allegedly consuming pesticide three days ago while Kumar is in very critical condition.
Their family members opposed their marriage, citing caste issues.
Pant Likely to Visit Him
According to reports, Rishabh Pant likely to come to Jhabreda in coming days to enquire about his health. Kumar is being treated at a private hospital in Jhabreda.
