New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday sent a proposal to LG VK Saxena to hold Capital's Mayor elections on 22 February after three failed attempts.

“Recommended MCD Mayor elections to be held on 22 Feb,” Kejriwal said in a tweet.

This comes after Supreme Court had on Friday asked MCD to issue notice for the elections within 24 hours.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, also ordered to issue a notice to convene the meeting of the MCD in 24 hours and fix the date for electing mayor, deputy mayor, and members of the standing committee. (with Agency inputs)
