Metro services to run as normal on Independence Day

New Delhi:  All Metro stations will remain open on Independence Day, a DMRC spokesperson here said on Tuesday.

However, parking at Metro stations will be closed from 0600 hrs on August 14 (Wednesday) till 1400 hrs on August 15 (Thursday).

Entry/Exit at four stations of Delhi Metro's Violet Line-- Lal Quila, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate and ITO-- will be permitted from select entry/exit Gates during the ceremony time on Independence Day.Some gates will remain closed at these stations owing to security considerations during this period, the DMRC spokesperson said.

To facilitate people at Lal Quila station on Independence day, additional ticket counters will be opened at Lal Quila and Jama Masjid Metro stations along with deployment of additional staff for guiding the additional rush after ceremony.
