New Delhi: The whole Nation is paying heartful tributes to Dr Bheemrao Ramji Ambedkar (1891–1956) on his 135th Birth Anniversary today on Monday, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Dr Ambedkar was a jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer who led the movement against caste discrimination in India.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice- President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and other dignitaries on Monday paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 135th Birth Anniversary at Prerna Sthal in Parliament premises.

Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Piyush Goyal, Lok Sabha MP and Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress parliamentary party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, and other leaders paid flora tributes.

President Droupadi Murmu paid floral tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar statue at Prerna Sthal in Parliament premises today.

President Droupadi Murmu was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar, several Union Ministers, and leaders from the Congress Party.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar at Prerna Sthal at Parliament House today. 

Vice-President took to social media X and said, '...Let us mark this day by rededicating ourselves to the constitutional ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity...' 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his post on X said, "On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary."

"It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realizing the dream of social justice today. His principles and ideals will give strength and momentum to the creation of a self-reliant and developed India," he added.

LoP Rahul Gandhi

Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said, "Tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, on his birth anniversary." 

Ambedkar Jayanti is observed on 14 April to commemorate the memory of B. R. Ambedkar, Indian politician and social reformer.

Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar worked steadfast throughout his life to end social and caste discrimination against the marginalised sections of the society. 

From a humble beginning, he went on to become the first law and justice minister of independent India. He was awarded India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna posthumously in 1990.
