Bollywood versatile singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known by his stage name KK, passed away on May 31 in Kolkata. Know five lesser known facts about him on Dynamite News:

Born in Delhi

KK was born on 23 August 1968 in Delhi to Malayali parents C. S. Menon and Kunnath Kanakavalli. He was graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University.

Hariharan encouraged him to move to Mumbai

Hariharan spotted him in Delhi while he was singing and the veteran singer had encouraged him to move to Mumbai.

Never learned music

KK used to learn music by just simply listening to Kishore Kumar songs. Later, when he got to know that Kishore Kumar had never learned music then he also followed his footsteps.

Debut album Pal

KK got his big break in the Bollywood industry with his debut album Pal. He sang 3,500 jingles before breaking into Bollywood.

Sang in many regional languages

Besides Hindi, KK also sang in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Kannada, Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati and Assamese.
