National Chief of Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav received the honour on behalf of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Samajwadi Party leaders Prof Ram Gopal Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav were also in attendance among others in the award ceremony.
This year 106 Padma Awards were announced on the Republic Day eve including 6 Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan and 91 Padma Shri. The list includes 19 women, 2 persons from the category of Foreigners/NRI/PIO/OCI and 7 posthumous awardees.
