Terror funding case: NIA files chargesheet against Hafiz Saeed, 11 others

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the NIA special court against Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, 11 separatist leaders and businessmen from Jammu and Kashmir in a case of alleged funding of terror and secessionist activities in the Kashmir Valley.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday filed a chargesheet in the NIA special court against Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, 11 separatist leaders and businessmen from Jammu and Kashmir in a case of alleged funding of terror and secessionist activities in the Kashmir Valley.

The chargesheet has been filed under sections 120B, 121, 121A and 124A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 38, 39 and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.

The names of Syed Salahuddin, Aftab Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Khan, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Akbar Khanday, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Zahoor Watali, Kamran Yusuf, Javed Ahmed Bhat have been listed in the chargesheet.

The NIA registered a case in May 2017 and conducted search operations at over 60 locations.

It has so far recovered around 950 incriminating documents in this connection. (ANI)
