UP Urban Civic Poll: Nine including 6 women from Saharanpur and 3 from Unnao detained over fake voting

Lucknow/Saharanpur: During first phase voting in state civic polls, 12 people including 9 from Saharanpur and 3 minors from Unnao have been detained by the police. Nine detained from Saharanpur include 6 women, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

The first incident of fake voting is reported from Janta Inter College in Mandi police station area of Saharanpur where 9 accused have been detained.

The second case of bogus voting is from Bangarmau Kotwali area of Unnao. Here 3 minors have been caught voting with fake Aadhaar card at DCKM Inter College. It is said that the father of a minor is also a polling agent. All three are being interrogated in custody.

In the first phase of polling, more than 44 thousand candidates are trying their luck for a total of 7,593 posts, including 10 mayors and 820 councilors, 103 municipal council presidents, 2,740 municipal council members, 275 town panchayat presidents and 3,645 town panchayat members.
