Uttar Pradesh: Three women die in lightning strike in Fatehpur

Fatehpur: Three women died after being struck by lightning in Malwan area of Fatehpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior police officer said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Udai Shanker Singh here said that Gomti Devi (45), Kusuma Devi (32) and Ram Kumari (50) were struck by the lightning while they were sowing paddy in Barmatpur village. "The three women died on the spot," he said.

District Magistrate C Indumati has sent a team from Revenue department to the spot.
