Voting underway for the second phase of Uttar Pradesh Panchayat polls

Voting for the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh panchayat polls underway on Monday in the wake of exponential rise in COVID cases.

Lucknow: Voting for the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh panchayat polls underwayon Monday in the wake of exponential rise in COVID cases.

More than 3.48 lakh candidates are in the fray for over 2.23 lakh posts in 20 districts and key cities including Varanasi and Lucknow. 

Polling started from 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. Among the districts that are going to polls in the second phase are Amroha, Azamgarh, Etawah, Etah, Chitrakoot, Kannauj, Gonda, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Pratapgarh, Budaun, Baghpat, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Mainpuri, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur and Sultanpur.
